MCR Executive Committee 2025-2026


President: Luke Bowd-Griffin, He/Him

Electronic Engineering PhD

“Hi all! I'm Luke and I'm your President for the 25/26 Academic year. I'm here to lead the MCR, communicating with college and making sure that you are all taken care of. I enjoy reading and long walks through whatever woods I can find. If you have any questions feel free to contact me, I'm always happy to help.”

Q. Favourite thing about Trevs:

The people! Trevs has so many interesting people and I love getting to know them.

Luke’s role is to represent you in college and in the University, lead the MCR Exec and try and make sure everyone gets the most they can from their college experience, and also be a point contact for any questions.

 

Vice President: Max Goodwin, He/Him

PhD Political Science, 1st Year

“Hi everyone, I’m Max and I’m the MCR vice president for this year. I’m a PhD student in the School of Government and International Affairs, specialising in British electoral reform and quantitative methods!”

Q. Favourite thing about Trevs:

The Buttery.

Max’s key role is to organise academic events within the college such as the termly research talks, the annual ‘Research Prize’ and organising delivery of stash!

Social Secretary: Ciara Mulvihill, She/Her

MA Educational Leadership and Change, 1st Year

“Hi everyone! I’m Ciara, and I’m really happy to be your MCR Social Secretary this year. I’m passionate about creating events that bring people together - from relaxed nights in to fun themed socials and trips around Durham. I love anything festive or creative, so expect plenty of cosy vibes, celebrations, and chances to unwind together throughout the year!”

Q. Favourite thing about Trevs:

The community spirit - everyone looks out for each other, and it always feels like one big family. 💚

Ciara plans and runs MCR socials, trips, and seasonal events, helping make Trevs a lively and inclusive space where everyone can get involved and feel part of the community.

 

Chair: Daniel Scobbie, He/Him

PhD

Dan’s role is the MCR Chair, hosting Executive meetings as well as producing the agendas for the same so will be the first person to approach if something needs raising. He also organises the elections for MCR Exec.

Treasurer: Sid Geilenkotten, They/Them

MSc Bioarchaeology, 2nd Year

Q. Favourite thing about Trevs:

How welcoming and kind everyone is! Making friends here is so easy bc everyone's great. That, and the bar rocks massively!

Sid is the Treasurer and their key responsibilities include Managing the MCR’s finances, buying new things for the MCR and reimbursing other people’s purchases – let them know if you have any ideas for stuff we should get.

 

Welfare Representative: Ray Munn, He/Him

MA History, 1st Year

“Hi! I’m Ray and I’m studying MA History part time. I’m very excited to be the Welfare Officer for our MCR community, please do ask me about what’s on for welfare. When I’m not studying, I enjoy sewing, baking and cooking.”

Q. Favourite thing about Trevs:

How friendly everyone is! From the college staff to the exec and everyone in between, it’s a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Ray is the Welfare Officer for the MCR, being your first port of call for all things Welfare as being a liaison between the MCR and College.

Services Representative: Ailis McConachie-Smith, She/Her

MSc in Scientific Computing and Data Analysis (MISCADA)

Ailis is the MCR services officer and has the responsibility of looking after the common room, representing livers-in, feedback on catering, running MCR formals, and helping with events.

 

Secretary: Megan Finch, She/Her

PhD Computer Science, 2nd Year

“Hi, I’m Megan, and I’m the MCR secretary for this year! I’m a PhD student in Computer Science, specialising in music and machine learning. In my free time, I love making music, reading, and sewing.”

Q. Favourite thing about Trevs:

MCR Film Club! (and toasties 🥪)

Megan is the MCR Secretary, and her key responsibilities include the upkeep of the MCR Website, the release of the weekly MCR Newsletter, and minute-taking for MCR Exec meetings.

 

Music Representative: Katie Vishwanath, She/Her

Music PhD

“Hi everyone! My name is Katie Vishwanath and I am the MCR’s music rep for this year. I love to play and listen to music and I hope we can all enjoy some great times together!”

Q. Favourite thing about Trevs:

I love that Trevs has such a great community and so many opportunities to play and get involved in music!

Katie is the MCR Music Representative, and her key duties are to organise the Music Prize, a competition for soloists in Epiphany term, and arrange music for MCR events to keep things extra classy!

 

International Officer: This Could Be You!

The International Officer represents international students at Trevs, and make sure everyone feels welcome, included, and represented, not just in meetings, but at events too.

Associates Representative: This Could Be You!

The Associates Rep represents associate (4th year undergraduate) members of the MCR.

 

Each year, MCR members elect an executive team to lead us in shared experiences that forge relationships and equip members with opportunities for growth that strengthens our community.

New members have an opportunity to run for a position of interest during the beginning of Michaelmas term (Winter semester from September-December).
